... when the coin falls ...

This section will tell you how the Rock-ola model 1454 jukebox operates,
although other models have other specific options,
generally they will operate in a similar way as this model.

After throwing the coin into the slot, it will tunnel it's way through the front panel door via an aluminum hose:

yes, in here !Track of the coin

Normally it would end up in the slug rejector mechanism, but as you can see in this picture there is no one left in this juke (I'm still looking for a Dutch version !)

A slug rejector mechanism is a device, which can detect up to three different types of coins. Standard it would be "one play for two nickels - one play for a dime - three plays for a quarter". But also other settings could be made.

Terminal is connected to the power supply. When a coin strikes one of the levers of the coin switch (located below the slug rejector), the D.C. circuit is closed to a corresponding terminal below .

Slug rejector mechanism missing, click me if you got one !

Accumulator assembly

Just above the slug rejector you'll find the accumulator assembly.

The heart of this assembly is formed by the accumulator itself:

This device records up to a maximum of twenty-six credits per coin type.

The picture shows how to change the number of credits.
By lifting up the wafer (A) and by moving the wafer pin (B) to the second next hole (C-G), you'll have one credit more for a quarter.

The middle wheel accumulates the "dime" selections, and the one below registers the nickels.

As long as there are credits, the program panel will be activated and the select glass will be lighted !:
